Mango Tree

Mango trees (Mangifera indica L.) grow up to 35–40 m (115–131 ft) tall, with a crown radius of 10 m (33 ft). The trees are long-lived, as some specimens still fruit after 300 years. In deep soil, the taproot descends to a depth of 6 m (20 ft), with profuse, wide-spreading feeder roots; the tree also sends down many anchor roots, which penetrate several feet of soil. The leaves are evergreen, alternate, simple, 15–35 cm (5.9–13.8 in) long and 6–16 cm (2.4–6.3 in) broad; when the leaves are young they are orange-pink, rapidly changing to a dark, glossy red, then dark green as they mature. The flowers are produced in terminal panicles 10–40 cm (3.9–15.7 in) long; each flower is small and white with five petals 5–10 mm (0.20–0.39 in) long, with a mild, sweet odor suggestive of lily of the valley. There are over 400 varieties of mango, many of which ripen in summer while some give double-crop. The fruit takes three to six months to ripen.

What is Eczema?

Eczema is also known as atopic dermatitis, or atopic eczema (the most common form of eczema). Atopic eczema mainly affects children, but it can continue into adulthood or start later in life. The word eczema comes from the Greek word ekzein meaning "to boil out"; the Greek word ek means "out", while the Greek word zema means boiling.

Eczema is a chronic skin condition in which the skin becomes itchy, reddened, cracked and dry. Approximately 30% of all skin-related GP visits in Western Europe result in a diagnosis of atopic eczema.

Natural Cure For Breast Cancer

The man who has been able to consistently cure people of all types of cancers over the past 30 years, Jim Kelmun (or “Dr Jim” as he is affectionately known by his patients), once said… “There’s not a tumor on god’s green earth that can’t be licked with a little baking soda and maple syrup!”
Jim first discovered the amazing healing powers of the baking soda and maple syrup remedy back in the mid 1970’s whilst helping a family of women all struck down with breast cancer…
“There were five sisters in the family and all of them passed away from the big C by age 50 – except one” he says.
“I asked if there was anything different in her diet. She told me she was partial to sipping maple syrup and baking soda”.
“I figured, let me try it out on some of my other patients”.
Over the years Jim has given his remedy to over 200 patients with terminal cancer. Astoundingly, 185 lived 15 years or more and nearly half actually had their cancers go into complete remission!
As Jim proudly states… “You tell me about another treatment that works that good!”

Breast cancer

Breast cancer is a type of cancer originating from breast tissue, most commonly from the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply the ducts with milk.Cancers originating from ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those originating from lobules are known as lobular carcinomas. Breast cancer occurs in humans and other mammals. While the overwhelming majority of human cases are in women, breast cancer can also occur in men.
The balance of benefits versus harms of breast cancer screening is controversial. The characteristics of the cancer determine the treatment, which may include surgery, medications (hormonal therapy and chemotherapy), radiation and/or immunotherapy.

Skin Cancer

Skin cancers (skin neoplasms) are named after the type of skin cell from which they arise. Basal cell cancer originates from the lowest layer of the epidermis, and is the most common but least dangerous skin cancer. Squamous cell cancer originates from the middle layer, and is less common but more likely to spread and, if untreated, become fatal. Melanoma, which originates in the pigment-producing cells (melanocytes), is the least common, but most aggressive, most likely to spread and, if untreated, become fatal.

Natural Treatment For Epilepsy

A seizure is the response to an abnormal electrical discharge in the brain. Anything that irritates

the brain can produce it. Two thirds of people who experience a seizure never have another. One third go on to have recurring seizures (a condition called epilepsy).
Precisely what happens during a seizure depends on what part of the brain is affected by the abnormal electrical discharge. The discharge may involve a tiny area of the brain and lead only to the person noticing an odd smell or taste, or it may involve large areas and lead to a convulsion--jerking and spasms of muscles throughout the body. The person may also have brief attacks of altered consciousness; lose consciousness, muscle control, or bladder control; and become confused.

What Is Epilepsy?

People with epilepsy tend to have recurrent seizures (fits). The seizures occur because of a sudden surge of electrical activity in the brain - there is an overload of electrical activity in the brain. This causes a temporary disturbance in the messaging systems between brain cells. During a seizure the patient's brain becomes "halted" or "mixed up".

Every function in our bodies is triggered by messaging systems in our brain. What a patient with epilepsy experiences during a seizure will depend on what part of his/her brain that epileptic activity starts, and how widely and quickly it spreads from that area. Consequently, there are several types of seizures and each patient will have epilepsy in his/her own unique way.

The word "epilepsy" comes from the Greek word epi meaning "upon, at, close upon", and the Greek word Leptos meaning "seizure". From those roots we have the Old French word epilepsie, and Latin word epilepsia and the Greek words epilepsia and epilepsies.

According to Medilexicon's medical dictionary, epilepsy is:

DOUBLE STANDARDS
(Chris Woollams; CANCERactive) It is an undeniable fact that herbs have been eaten for their health-giving properties for thousands of years. History and experience tells us to eat Thyme, but not Deadly Nightshade.  Trained, expert Medical Herbalists know exactly what herbs can, and cannot, do.
Unlike certain drugs companies, such herbalists have yet to pay millions of dollars to avoid court action over claims that they hid research studies showing negative results. No herb in recent years has been lauded as a health-restorer, only to be subsequently ´withdrawn´ after causing deformity, heart attacks and/or death. Taking a cocktail of prescription medicines, not herbs, is the number one cause of death in states such as Florida.
Whereas, your Government upholds your freedom to choose to buy cigarettes over the counter throughout Britain even though they have clear health-damaging risks, it will not give you the same freedom to choose to buy natural compounds like herbs. Oddly, you need to be protected from eating herbs, but not cigarettes (or alcohol).
Unlike GM food that is increasingly available in the High Street, yet rarely, if ever, goes through rigorous Government regulation or independent research and was created synthetically just a few years ago, common herbs that haven´t changed for centuries will not be available in pills and liquids on the same High Streets after May 1st 2011. An EU Directive will remove them for health safety reasons.
The world is a very mixed up place.
Here are twenty herbs that just might help your fight against cancer.

What is Insomnia?

Insomnia, or sleeplessness, is a sleep disorder in which there is an inability to fall asleep or to stay asleep as long as desired. While the term is sometimes used to describe a disorder demonstrated by polysomnographic evidence of disturbed sleep, this sleep disorder is often practically defined as a positive response to either of two questions: "Do you experience difficulty sleeping?" or "Do you have difficulty falling or staying asleep?"
Insomnia is most often thought of as both a medical sign and a symptom that can accompany several sleep, medical, and psychiatric disorders characterized by a persistent difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep or sleep of poor quality. Insomnia is typically followed by functional impairment while awake. Insomnia can occur at any age, but it is particularly common in the elderly. Insomnia can be short term (up to three weeks) or long term (above 3–4 weeks), which can lead to memory problems, depression, irritability and an increased risk of heart disease and automobile related accidents.

Alcoholism

An alcoholic is a man or a woman who suffers from alcoholism - they have a distinct physical desire to consume alcohol beyond their capacity to control it, regardless of all rules of common sense.

According to Alcoholics Anonymous UK, who say they have no unique definition for alcoholism, it may be described as a physical compulsion, together with a mental obsession. Apart from having an enormous craving for alcohol, an alcoholic often yields to that craving at the worst possible times. The alcoholic knows neither when nor how to stop drinking.

Definition - an alcoholic is a person, while alcoholism is the illness. An alcoholic suffers from alcoholism. Alcoholism is a long-term (chronic) disease.

Garlic And Cancer Prevention

  1. Garlic is a vegetable (Allium sativum) that belongs to the Allium class of bulb-shaped plants, which also includes onions, chives, leeks, and scallions. Garlic is used for flavoring in cooking and is unique because of its high sulfur content. In addition to sulfur, garlic also contains arginine, oligosaccharides, flavonoids, and selenium, all of which may be beneficial to health .
The characteristic odor and flavor of garlic comes from sulfur compounds formed from allicin, the major precursor of garlic’s bioactive compounds, which are formed when garlic bulbs are chopped, crushed, or damaged .

Diarrhea

Diarrhea is a condition that involves the frequent passing of loose or watery stools - it is the opposite of constipation and can have many causes, which may be infectious or non-infectious.

Diarrhea comes from the Greek word diarrhoia. Dia means "through" and rheo means "flow". The term "flowing through" was coined by Hippocrates.

Spelling: In American English it is spelled "diarrhea", and in British English it is "diarrhoea".

Acute diarrhea, meaning diarrhea that is not long-term, is a very common cause death in developing nations, especially among young children and babies. It usually appears rapidly and may last from between five to ten days.

Chronic diarrhea, meaning long-term diarrhea is the second cause of death among children in developing countries.

Asthma

Asthma is a disease affecting the airways that carry air to and from your lungs. People who suffer from this chronic condition (long-lasting or recurrent) are said to be asthmatic.
The inside walls of an asthmatic's airways are swollen or inflamed. This swelling or inflammation makes the airways extremely sensitive to irritations and increases your susceptibility to an allergic reaction.
As inflammation causes the airways to become narrower, less air can pass through them, both to and from the lungs. Symptoms of the narrowing include wheezing (a hissing sound while breathing), chest tightness, breathing problems, and coughing. Asthmatics usually experience these symptoms most frequently during the night and the early morning.
For information on the different causes of asthma (allergy, colds, stress, exercise, etc) please see page 4 (causes of asthma).

Health Benefits Of Ginkgo

Ginkgo biloba is the oldest living tree species – the tree could live up to 1,000 years. More than 40 components of the ginkgo biloba tree have been isolated and identified, but only two of them -- flavonoids and terpenoids -- are believed to account for Ginkgo biloba’s beneficial health effects. Flavonoids are plant-based antioxidants, and studies have revealed that flavonoids protect the nerves, heart muscle, blood vessels, and retina from damage. Terpenoids aid blood flow by dilating the blood vessels and reducing the stickiness of platelets.

Diseases And Their Cure

1. Malaria: Get a potful of lemon grass and lime, boil and drink a cup twice a day, children should take ¼ of a glass cup twice a day. Or prepare Lipton tea, lime, lemon grass, pea leaf (Otiili), henna leaf (Laali), boil and add Alabukun Powder and take 3 times a day.

2. Sleeplessness: Mix undiluted honey with Aloe Vera juice, take half a cup before going to bed, or get some bitter leaves squeeze and take half a cup before going to bed.

3. Tooth Ache: Mix undiluted honey with lime juice and apply two or more drops to the affected part of your teeth or get a wonderful cola and chew around the area, if impossible, grind and mix with hot and apply.

Health Benefits Of Water

Scientifically speaking, water is the basis of life, but beyond being essential to your very existence, water serves all sorts of purposes that help you feel your absolute best. No, it can't cure cancer (though it may help prevent it), pay your rent (though it does save you money), or take out the trash, but here are six reasons H2O can help solve many annoying day-to-day health issues-and possibly prevent a few big ones-from headaches to those last few pounds.

Alternative Asthma Treatment

Asthma leaves some 15 million Americans gasping for breath. And asthma's incidence has been steadily rising in the past four decades, more than doubling since 1980. Although the tendency to develop asthma can be genetic, both environmental and dietary factors are major causes for the increase.

For example, the incidence of asthma, especially in children, is much greater in urban areas where polluted air is more prevalent. Even more striking is that asthma is a new disease. Like coronary artery disease, asthma was virtually unknown 100 years ago, and is still rare in many developing countries.
